The Best and Easiest Chili Recipe Ever!!
This is our absolute favorite chili recipe and in all honesty the only one that we will ever use. It is super simple to throw together plus it reheats amazingly for the next couple days. We came across this recipe several years ago from a long time family friend at a cookout. We ate one bite and just had to have the recipe, so ever since then this is our go to chili recipe. Like I said before it is super simple to throw together, the ingredients are very simple too. This dish is also very versatile, we eat it on hotdogs, on chili burgers, or simply with cornbread. This recipe makes quite a bit, so you can reheat it for the next couple days. On the second day, we heat it up and throw in some beans, and voilà… you have chili beans. Two completely delicious dinner meals all in one pot. Here’s how to make it…..
Here is the all of the ingredients you’ll need. 3 lbs of ground turkey or ground beef (both taste amazing), 1 diced onion, 2 cans of tomato paste, 3/4 to 1 cup of ketchup, 2 tbsp. brown sugar, 2 tbsp. cumin, 2 tbsp. chili powder, and 2 packets of chili seasoning*optional*
Also pictured is the cans of beans that we use on the second day of the chili fest, but you can use whatever you have on hand.
First things first, you need to brown the meat of your choosing with the diced onion, and drain the fat. Next comes the 2 cans of tomato paste, just mix those in with 3-4 cans of water, depending on if you like a thick or watery chili. Just use the tomato paste cans for the water.
Now comes the seasonings. 2 1/2 tablespoons of chili powder, cumin, and brown sugar + the seasoning packets if you opted for them. Then about 3/4 cup to 1 cup of ketchup.
Then just mix all of that together, taste test it to make sure all the seasoning are to your liking, and your done. Pretty simple huh? Just wait until you get it on your plate and you really get to dive into it. You’re going to love it, I promise.
